Multiverse is a game that has received a lot of character requests from the community since launch — even before! Being a platform fighter with a wide variety of Warner Bros. characters battling it out, the title invites wishlists and what ifs when it comes to upcoming fighters. Thanks to some recent polls, we have a rough idea of what the most requested community characters are
Twitter user MrWhite4MVS, an account dedicated to spreading the word of walter-white-for-the-multiverse, posted a round-up of every character mention on the character wishlist channel within the official Multiverse Discord. Ben 10 is number one, followed by Walter White, The Warners, Mordecai and Rigby and Gumball.
Now obviously, it’s worth noting that character references aren’t exactly votes. A dedicated Mordecai and Rigby fan can just spam the mentions until they start to annoy the mods, or a gaggle of Gumball lovers can constantly post victory memes.
Nevertheless, it provides at least a general idea of what characters the community actually extends to. Ben 10 admittedly surprised me: it’s not really a meme pick or a show that I thought was particularly popular (I guess I’m just that old actually) but its lead over other characters like Walter White with a real push for Ben is a Proves specific will and its countless alien forms.
As wild as some of these picks are, the latest DLC addition to the Multiverse has really torn the lid off Pandora’s box where guest characters are concerned. Gizmo is a lil’ guy no one under 30 knows, Morty is a character from a distinctly adult show, and LeBron James is a real-life basketball player. Literally anyone at the table.
