As such, Epic decided to throw one 5th birthday celebration Filled with fun activities, special quests and even some birthday cake to eat! Here we have everything you need to know about the festival.
5th birthday celebration start and end time
The 5th birthday celebration will begin on September 23 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET and continue until September 27 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET.
Birthday gifts, birthday cakes and balloons
Not only does the battle bus get a birthday makeover during the celebration, but you’ll also be able to score some cool stuff on the ground. While exploring the map, you can find birthday gifts that you can get high-level loot and some birthday cake, which you can eat to restore your health.
Meanwhile, balloons are also making a comeback during the 5th birthday celebration. These fan-favorite items are fun to use and allow you to jump higher and fall slower, and they eliminate fall damage while inflating. You can inflate up to three at a time, which will make you float up until released or shot out of the sky. Just make sure an enemy team doesn’t shoot you out of the sky like a carnival game.
Birthday quests for birthdays
You’ve got some quests to complete during the birthday celebration. Doing so will earn you three unique cosmetic items, which we’ve listed below.

Birthday photography
Apart from all the new things to check out, you can also indulge in some photography. During the celebration, Epic hopes players will celebrate birthdays–either Fortnite’s or their own–by taking in-game birthday-themed photos.
