The Logitech Astro 30 for gamers is a wireless headset designed for a wide range of game consoles … [+]
LogitechGaming is probably one of the most popular pastimes in the world and hardly a week goes by without a technology hitting the market promising to give you the competitive edge you need to win. And in an era where gamers are using portable gaming platforms like PCs, gaming consoles and Nintendo Switch, having leading technology is essential. Logitech’s new Astro A30 headset is designed to work with them all.
The Astro A30 from Logitech is available in navy or white.
LogitechThis latest piece of gaming technology blends fashion and function in a multi-use headset available in PlayStation or Xbox flavors. The Astro A30 is designed for all platforms and even offers customizable speaker tags like the popular A40 model. Gamers can customize controls and connect up to three devices using the Logitech G mobile app so players can create their ideal gaming experience across all platforms.
The Astro A30 simultaneously combines Logitech’s reputation for comfort and flexibility with the latest gaming performance capabilities, including optimization for multi-device connectivity and custom mixing. Astro A30 works with PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, XB Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PCs, macOS, iOS and Android.
The A30 connects quickly and reliably thanks to Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless technology. Both the PlayStation and Xbox versions come with their own Lightspeed USB dongle. For games played on both consoles, Logitech sells specific LIGHTSPEED dongles separately with additional earpads, separate mics and cables.
The speakers used in the A30 are 40mm dynamic drivers that deliver a big sound and plenty of clarity. An on-ear joystick control enables gamers to mute, mix, adjust volume, play, pause and more. The audio and gaming experience can be customized using the Logitech G mobile app available for iOS and Android.
Logitech’s Astro A30 headset has a detachable boom microphone.
LogitechMultiple devices can be used simultaneously, thanks to the professional-grade LIGHTSPEED wireless 2.4 GHz dongle, which can connect to a PC, Mac, PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, XB Series X|S. Bluetooth is built-in for portable gaming devices, plus an old-school 3.5mm aux cable for everything else.
Gamers can choose between using the Astro 30’s detachable boom mic or the built-in version. There is a sidetone for both microphones and level settings can be applied to both mics. Each microphone delivers clear sound, the boom arm provides maximum focus, while the built-in mic makes the headset smoother.
A single charge of the headset provides more than 27 hours of battery life for wireless use on all platforms, providing at least several days of gaming. When it’s time to top up, a USB-C charging port will soon top up the Astro 30 completely. And thanks to a built-in accelerometer, the A30 headset turns itself off after 30 minutes if no movement is detected. That amount of time can be adjusted using the Logitech G mobile app.

LogitechIn addition to being a wireless headset, the A30 can function as a wired model even when the internal battery is completely drained. By simply connecting an external boom microphone and plugging the headset into any device with a 3.5mm port, gaming can still go on.
The Astro 30 will ship on October 4 and is available in white and navy. Gamers can personalize their headsets using interchangeable custom speaker tags, and the tag fit is similar to the one used on Logitechs A40 headset. There is also a curated collection of tags available for purchase or users can create custom designs using personal graphics.
The Astro A30 features swivel-mounted earcups so the headset can lie flat when worn around the neck or tucked away in the included hard carrying case. The design is intended to be displayed in public, while on stream or as part of a battle station.
Verdict: The Logitech Astro A30 Wireless Gaming Headset offers every connectivity option and feature a gamer could want. The choice of two microphones is easy and the sound quality from the 40mm drivers is excellent, even when listening to hi-res music. With the Astro A30, Logitech has created an incredibly versatile wireless headset that will give gamers the leading edge.
