Nintendo has announced that a bug has been found in Splatoon 3 and it may not count votes for this weekend’s Splatfest results.
Sharing the details on Twitter, Big N said that some players found conch shells – which are either gear, grub or fun – before voting for their Splatfest team could disappear. If they do, it means the player’s vote may not count.
For now, Nintendo is advising players to vote before collecting shells. Here is the company’s message:
“#Found a bug in Splatoon3 where conches received before voting could disappear and not count towards Splatfest results.
To avoid this problem, we recommend that players vote in Splatfest before collecting conch shells. We apologize for the inconvenience. This bug will be fixed in the future.”
Conch Shells can be earned during the Splatfest Sneak Peak, which takes place in the days leading up to the next Splatfest. There doesn’t seem to be any problem collecting conch shells after you’ve voted for your team, so just run over to that board and pick your side!
Splatfest kicks off this weekend Friday, September 23rd at 5pm PT In North America, From 2am BST on Saturday 24th September In Europe, and 1am AEST on Saturday 24th September in Australia. The second half of the event will begin 24 hours after the action begins. It’s a weekend bonanza!
We’ll let you know if Nintendo manages to fix the bug, but for now, ignore those shells until you vote!
