Fans of Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso may feel like they’ve fallen from the lucky tree and hit every branch on the way down, as EA Sports has confirmed that both the titular coach and his fictional AFC Richmond squad will join the playable roster. Teams in FIFA 23.
AFC Richmond will be available as members of the “Rest of the World” category of FIFA 23 player squad selection. Richmond will be eligible to play in standard matches, online friendlies and the online season.
The team will be included in FUT via manager items for Ted Lasso and Coach Beard, AFC Richmond uniforms and more. The roster will include notable characters such as Roy Kent, Sam Obisanya, Dani Rojas and Jamie Tartt. Also available at the team’s home stadium, Nelson Road.

Ted Lasso tells the story of a college football coach who is suddenly named the head coach of a fictional English Premier League soccer team. It stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, team owner Rebecca Welton, the aforementioned Goldstein, and Hannah Waddingham as more.
FIFA 23 is the latest installment in EA Sports’ annual soccer franchise, and will notably end retaining the FIFA name as the series transitions to “EA Sports FC” beginning next year. The game will launch on September 30 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and Google Stadia.
