An appeals court late Wednesday granted the Justice Department’s request to retain control of classified material seized at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, a major win for the government to continue its criminal investigation into the handling of those materials.
In a 29-page decision, the 11th Circuit US Court of Appeals in Atlanta lifted an earlier order from a federal judge that barred federal agents from using nearly 100 classified documents seized as part of an investigation into whether there were any national-security risks. . Mr Trump’s Florida home was exposed by the way highly sensitive government materials were kept.
